Meet the new SeaSurf Installer for Windows

Now you can download the new SeaSurf Installer that installs ECG SeaSurf 2017 Update Pack 2 onto your PC. It is free to install but you must accept the terms. The terms aren’t very time-consuming and they seem fair to me.

The guide to fix rendering problems will be updated soon. In the meantime, I would recommend migrating to the installer version.

GUIDE: Fix Rendering Problems in SeaSurf for Windows

SeaSurf for Windows doesn’t always render pages as well as it could. However, you can fix this problem easily.

You will need:

You will need to know where the SeaSurfForWindows.exe is stored (eg, C:\Users\yourusername\Desktop\SeaSurfForWindows.exe)

Open Cortana or press Windows Key + R and type regedit and press enter. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION and add a new DWORD 32-bit value. Name the value the path of SeaSurfForWindows.exe, including the SeaSurfForWindows.exe at the end and change the Hexadecimal value to 11001 and restart any running instances of ECG SeaSurf.

SeaSurf 1.3 for Android

Good morning world, SeaSurf 1.3 for Android has been released to the public and adds a new feature and a major bug fixed.

Remember that time when you are viewing a webpage that you LOVE and want to email it to someone. Only SeaSurf for Linux allowed you to see the current URL, so for Android it wouldn’t of been a possibility. Now that SeaSurf for Windows has had this fixed, I chose to fix it in the Android version too!

The new feature is displaying the time in the toolbar. This is a handy feature for people who don’t want to hesitate to look at the time in their tablet’s status bar while surfing the web. You can now see the time right in the toolbar.

Currently known bugs:

Digital clock positioned incorrectly in the toolbar.

ECG SeaSurf for Windows – Update Pack 2

Welcome to the World of ECG SeaSurf 2017 Update Pack 2! After the problem of not knowing what the URL of a page is, now you can see the URL in the address bar and copy it into an email or whatever you want. It also fixes a couple of those bugs you may of been facing. If SeaSurf hasn’t worked on your machine previously, try it now and if it works, all foreseeable future versions should work.

Could “ECG Tools for Android” be brought to Windows UWP

UWP is the Universal Windows Platform, commonly referred to as Universal Apps. These apps can run on Windows Phones and tablets and are usually built with these devices in mind. Some can only run on PC, some run on phones, some are mobile-only apps, some run on VR and some are intended for tablets. They are usually more limited than their desktop counterpart if they have one.

SeaSurf could have a possibility of coming to the Universal Windows Platform. But, in the meantime, I am learning how to use Visual Studio’s UWP app creator, and I stumbled upon a widget called WebView.

WebView is available for Android, iOS and Windows UWP. WebView may remind you of SeaSurf for Linux as well, as the webpage viewer has been ported over to Python 2.x.

Today, I managed to make an app that displays my blog. I am thinking: should I make apps for people that run with Windows.

In the meantime, just add the following below <Grid Background=”{ThemeResource ApplicationPageBackgroundThemeBrush}”> in your MainPage.xaml:

<WebView Name=”Display” VerticalAlignment=”Stretch”/>

One lovely blog award – who are my favourite bloggers?

This challenge has spread across the internet like fire (I didn’t create this challenge) so I have decided to do one. Basically, I have to tell you 7 things about my character. And up to 15 bloggers I enjoy. I have over 40 followers, but as there are limits (a few don’t have blogs) and you can only do up to 15. I am sorry if I do not include you!

So, here are the 7 things about me!

1. I think about my web browser project, ECG SeaSurf , for a lot of my time. I love it because the world wide web is a big place, and making software that allows people to browse such a great thing makes me feel special.

2. I do not try to block the spotlight from other developers as I love seeing what others have produced too, and I love getting inspired.

3. I love playing video games because they are extremely fun, and it feels like I am in the game (no VR here!). They also take stress away.

4. I love writing stories, to entertain people. I am writing a story called Sir Wolf’s Castle, about Minecraft wolves and a villan called Sir Bum-Smacker.

5. I love looking at over blogs and leaving feedback and liking posts because I don’t want to look selfish.

6. I love ketchup. It is an awesome sauce.

7. There are lots of other things I love but don’t blog about: Star Wars and Legends of Chima, for example.

Now, here are my favourite bloggers: I DO NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR LINK CONTENT CHANGING

Check out his blog at themarvelousmind.com

3.  ARJ

If you want a guide to coding and you want to be a pro, then ARJ’s blog “A bit of everything – copy” is the place for you. He has another blog, pythongr.wordpress.com, which is worth checking out too.
